Developer Tip of the Day: How to Clean Up Docker’s Mess
Kyle shares this: “Docker does not do a good job of cleaning up after itself when you remove containers, images, and artifacts. It winds up leaving hundreds of GB of trash in c:ProgramDataDockerwindowsfilter. These steps worked for me to clean it up.
Do all these steps from an elevated PowerShell:
- Remove all containers
- Remove all images
- Docker image ls -a
- Docker image rm
- Remove all artifacts
- Flush-ContainerHelperCache -cache bcartifacts
- Stop docker desktop
- Stop and disable docker service
- Download docker-ci-zap.exe
- .docker-ci-zap.exe -folder “C:ProgramDataDockerwindowsfilter”
- Re-enable docker service and re-create your containers”
Suresh asks: “Did you try Docker system prune or Docker system prune -a?”
Kyle answers: “Yes. That does nothing for the windowsfilter folder.”
Suresh agrees: “Except removing the content from windowsfilter folder, it will clean up all the dangling images, containers.”
End of Mainstream Support for Dynamics NAV and Business Central 15
Is it time to upgrade your clients? Microsoft’s end of mainstream support for Dynamics NAV 2016 and Business Central 15 is coming up in April.
