Dynamics Business Central / NAV Developer Digest - Vol. 544

ArcherPoint by Cherry Bekaert’s Developer Digest focuses on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV development. This week’s volume includes cloud customer management made easy(er), identifying event subscriptions across apps, and SharePoint integrations for Business Central.

The Dynamics 365 Business Central community, consisting of developers, project managers, and consultants, collaborates across various platforms to share valuable insights. At ArcherPoint, we greatly value their dedication and expertise. To ensure widespread access to this technical knowledge, we created Developer Digest.

Cloud customer management made easier

Duilio Tacconi and Stefano Demiliani have released an open-source project called the Cloud Customer Management Solution (CCMS). This solution enables partners to manage cloud customer tenants as fully integrated into their internal management systems.

Beginning with a demonstration of technical methods for managing the Business Central Tenant Admin Center (TAC), the two have worked together to develop an application that “orchestrates the handling of customer tenants and environments tightly integrated in Dynamics 365 Business Central.” The application also uses the YAMPI MCP server (see Dev Digest 542).

Both Tacconi and Demiliani have written blogs on the CCMS:

Identify event subscriptions across apps

Page 9510 – Event Subscriptions – lists all event subscriptions across all installed apps. Page 9510 can be a helpful tool for auditing or debugging application behavior. For example, when trying to identify when multiple apps are subscribing to the same event, causing conflicts.

The Event Subscriptions page shows multiple fields, including:

  • The name of the subscriber codeunit
  • The subscriber function
  • The event being listened to
  • The Object ID that contains the event publisher function
  • And several more useful fields

Find out more about the Event Subscriptions page by reading Tonya Bricco-Meske’s blog, #HumpDayHacks: Event Subscriptions Page in BC.

SharePoint integrations for Business Central

If you are looking to integrate Business Central with SharePoint, Volodymyr Dvernystskyi provides a discussion comparing the legacy SharePoint REST API to the Microsoft Graph-based SharePoint API, with practical examples of how to use both and highlighting the advantages of the Graph API.
