ALERT: Deprecated tables will be removed in BC 2025 release wave 1

This message is important, so we are repeating it from last week:

Microsoft is removing deprecated tables and fields, and this action might break some AppSource and Per-Tenant Extension applications that still rely on the deprecated objects.

Microsoft is urging developers to validate their apps against the new release to ensure that any issues are identified and addressed as soon as possible.

Check out Microsoft’s blog, Essential Clean-Up Guide for Partners: 2025 Release Wave 1, to learn more.

See Deleted objects in 2025 release wave 1 for a list of the objects that will be deleted in this release.

Scheduling software updates in Business Central

With all the interest focused on the features included in the new Business Central release coming this Spring, it might be good to get up to speed on the proper way to update Business Central, test updates in a sandbox, and schedule updates using the Admin Center.

Brad Prendergast also shows how to conduct version management and update specific environments in his blog, Real Things I’m asked: Schedule an update to my Business Central Online Environment.

Power Pages vulnerability addressed

Jason Gumpert of MSDynamicsWorld.com reported that Microsoft recently addressed a vulnerability in Power Pages that allowed improper access control via unauthorized attackers by bypassing the registration control.

Although Microsoft has already addressed the vulnerability, it serves as a reminder that all companies must remain vigilant about who is on their systems at all times.

See Jason’s article, “Microsoft responds to new Power Pages Elevation of Privileges Vulnerability” at MSDynamicsWorld.com.

Restricting Purchase Orders to “Receive” only.

Business Central allows users handling Purchase Orders to either Receive Items or Invoice them.

Sometimes, however, companies might want to develop a workflow that restricts users to only “Receive” items, preventing them from invoicing.

Mohana Yadav addresses this issue in his blog, Is it Possible to Set “Receive” by Default or Disable “Invoice” Options in Purchase Order?
