Dynamics NAV / Business Central Developer Digest - Vol 363
The Developer Digest blog focuses on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central development and Dynamics NAV development. In this Developer Digest , we discuss automated testing in Dynamics Business Central, developer training resources, debugging in Business Central SaaS, and more.
The Dynamics NAV and Business Central community, including the ArcherPoint technical staff, is made up of developers, project managers, and consultants who are constantly communicating, with the common goal of sharing helpful information with one another to help customers be more successful.
As they run into issues and questions, find the answers, and make new discoveries, they post them on blogs, forums, social media…so everyone can benefit. We in Marketing watch these interactions and never cease to be amazed by the creativity, dedication, and brainpower we’re so fortunate to have in this community—so we thought, wouldn’t it be great to share this great information with everyone who might not have the time to check out the multitude of resources out there? So, the ArcherPoint Microsoft Dynamics NAV/BC Developer Digest was born. Each week, we present a collection of thoughts and findings from NAV/BC experts and devotees around the world. We hope these insights will benefit you, too.

File Not Found: Students Who Grew Up with Search Engines
Matt T shares: “I thought this was an interesting article about professors having to rethink their lesson plans when educating the generation that grew up with Google. I’m in the middle generation that still started with DOS/Windows 3.1/Basic but was exposed to ‘Search’ early enough. Google is older than the people graduating from college now, though. Ten years from now, Google Docs will be older than the people graduating from college; they will have grown up not knowing anything else. While I haven’t encountered it to the extreme of some of the examples in the article, it does make me think about what knowledge new developers (and really anyone) will come in with a decade from now.”
Learning Path: Business Central
Greg Kaupp shares: “The Microsoft learning portal now has 52 Learning Path courses for Business Central. They are actually really good, and you can go through them much more quickly than the course time suggests.”
Debugging in Business Central SaaS
Saurav talks about snapshot debugging: “Yesterday in our company call, we discussed debugging. For a D365 BC SaaS production environment, normal debugging is not allowed, but Microsoft has introduced Snapshot debugging, which will allow developers and consultants to debug offline.
