Exciting New Business Central Features on Display at DynamicsCon LIVE 2024

DynamicsCon LIVE 2024 was held last week in Denver, Colorado. It brought together about 1500 professionals, administrators, developers, and partners from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 community.

DynamicsCon is focused on users of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain, Customer Engagement, Dynamics GP, Power Platform, and cross-product topics. The annual conference offers educational sessions, social events, and networking opportunities for groups of users to talk with experts and fellow users about their challenges and learn new ways to leverage the Dynamics family of products.

Not surprisingly, AI was a running theme throughout the event this year, starting with the keynote highlighting a recent prediction from IDC research that claimed, “By 2026, 40% of net-new applications will be intelligent apps, where developers incorporate AI to enhance existing experiences and form new use cases.”

Some of the highlights of this year’s event included:

  • A demonstration showing how easy it is to use Web Services to import data into Excel for slicing and dicing.
  • Power BI Fact Boxes on Business Central list pages are used to display Power BI reports using the records in the lists.
  • Using Business Central’s Analyze View lets users analyze data from list pages directly in the Business Central client without opening the page in Excel or running a report. Users can perform Excel-like tasks, such as functions and pivot tables. With Copilot, users can even enter a prompt for a view, and Copilot will create the report for them.

The event was also fun, with receptions, a casino night, and multiple opportunities to interact with Dynamics users in various industries worldwide.

After seeing the experts demonstrate the software’s new capabilities and learning how other users are applying the technology, nearly every attendee left the event with a head full of possibilities.

DynamicsCon LIVE is sponsored by the Dynamics User Group (DUG), a user and partner community independent of Microsoft.

DUG intends to grow the event next year with more participants and speakers.

I hope to see you at DynamicsCon next year in Chicago!
