Dynamics Business Central / NAV Developer Digest - Vol. 543

ArcherPoint’s Developer Digest focuses on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV development. This week’s volume includes AL development using Antigravity, more on Waldo’s BC Telemetry Buddy, and replicating BC data from on premises to cloud.
The Dynamics 365 Business Central community, consisting of developers, project managers, and consultants, collaborates across various platforms to share valuable insights. At ArcherPoint, we greatly value their dedication and expertise. To ensure widespread access to this technical knowledge, we created Developer Digest.
AL development using Antigravity
Google’s introduction of Antigravity provides an agentic development platform powered by Gemini 3. Antigravity offers several advantages over other AI-driven coding tools like GitHub Copilot, allow agents to plan tasks, coordinate with other agents, execut code, and generate reports.
Antigravity has an Editor View that acts as the developer IDE, and a Manager View that can coordinate with multiplel agents.
However, Antigravity does not come “out of the box” with support for AL development.
Stefano Demiliani demonstrates how to configure Antigravity for AL development, compile the AL extension package directly in Antigravity, and publish the AL extension directly in a BC sandbox.
Check out Demiliani’s blog, “Hacking” Google Antigravity to develop AL extensions for Dynamics 365 Business Central, to learn the details.
More on Waldo’s BC Telemetry Buddy
In DevDigest 541, we talked about Waldo’s BC Telemetry Buddy.
Waldo has made major architectural changes to the extension so it runs completely standalone and the MCP server is now separate. The new version is more flexible and offers more features, such as a performance chatmode that identifies deadlocks, timeouts, and slow SQL execution.
As Waldo describes it, BC Telemetry Buddy has gone from proof of concept to “a modular, test-covered, telemetry-driven, AI-powered tool” that is being use in real-life scenarios.
Find out more about the project and how you can get involved by reading Waldo’s blog, BC Telemetry Buddy – 84 commits later.
Replicating BC data from on-premises to cloud
Moving from an on-premises Business Central installation to the cloud can be a challenge.
Saurav Dhyani helps take the guesswork out of the process by providing a step-by-step video tutorial for replicating on-premises BC data to SaaS.
In the video, Dhyani shows how to set up the cloud and on-premises BC environments, run the replication task, validate the results, and troubleshoot common problems that occur.
If you are involved in a move from on-premises to the cloud, check out Dhyani’s video, How to Replicate Data from Business Central On-Prem to SaaS.
