Last week brought much buzz after the Directions Asia conference, particularly around the plan revealed by Microsoft to make C/AL no longer available in the upcoming October 2019 release of Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Stefano says, Bye Bye C/AL, welcome to the AL era, sharing Microsoft’s plans to make good on the promise of moving their ERP codebase from C/AL to AL, with the April 2019 release being the last that will support C/AL.
It’s also been noted that Microsoft intends to allow for Business Central base code changes using AL, but
ArcherPoint’s Jon Long warns against the consequences of Changing Microsoft Dynamics AL Code.

Cumulative Update 04 Released for Business Central On Premises
From his blog, dated March 22, Saurav Dhyani shares the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central on premises cumulative update 04, providing a list of the platform updates and which localized versions are available.
The Missing Work Date Indicator
Saurav asks: “Are you missing the work date indicator in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central? If so, it will be ready with the April 2019 update. Be ready to use that feature in a new way with Business Central.”
Per Microsoft’s release notes, the work date will be presented directly on-screen in relevant scenarios so users can easily understand the context of the current view.
