Enforcing descriptions on G/L entries

Accurate descriptions are an important element in G/L entries. They help identify the purpose of the transaction and ensure the transaction is allocated properly for auditing purposes. Failure to properly identify a transaction could lead to errors in financial reporting.

Mohana Yadav shows how to force the user to enter a description in the G/L in the event they leave the field blank.

Power Apps and secure connections

Power Apps allows for explicit and implicit data connections to external resources.

An explicit connection requires the user to authenticate with the external resource using their own credentials, providing a high degree of security.

An implicit connection uses the credentials used by the app maker when creating the app. Since the user is never required to enter their credentials, implicit shared connections are the least secure.

Stefano Demiliani discusses the new Secure implicit connections feature in Power Apps, now in full preview support that will help improve the security of your new and existing apps.

Organizing data with sorting algorithms: Bubble, Merge, and Quick

Every developer is faced with the challenge of organizing data at some point, and, depending on the data you are looking to organize, some sorting algorithms are better than others.

Brad at DvlprLife.com has posted the AL code for three common sorting algorthms, Bubble Sort, Merge Sort, and Quick Sort.

Improve Business Central performance with Page Background Tasks

Page background tasks can increase Business Central’s performance. Complex processes can be performed without interfering with the user interface, providing a better user experience by letting users continue working uninterrupted.

Discover the power of Page Background Tasks in Business Central! Alberto, the Business Central Geek, offers a tutorial on running page background takes in Business Central that gives a simple use case scenario and practical examples.
